Garmin Mobile for your Blackberry Smartphone

16 05 2008

Have you ever been driving along a busy highway, while trying to bang out an e-mail to your boss on your Blackberry, knees on the wheel making sure you don’t swerve off the road?  Garmin (GRMN) has officially released a Mobile version of their mapping software, which may not make you a safer driver, but you can bet your booty that you won’t get lost.  The Garmin Mobile software comes in two packages, $99 for a lifetime subscription to their maps, and $149 for a lifetime subscription + Bluetooth GPS  and is available for Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices.  Included in the price is Garmin Mobile’s dynamic content such as traffic, weather conditions and forecasts, fuel prices and more.  What is not included is safety training on how to drive and look at the itty bitty screen on your Blackberry from two feet away.  Luckily, it does have text-to-speech, so your handheld will talk to you while you are trying to get to your crazy Uncle Larry’s house after a long day at the office.  What, no Blackberry or Smartphone? Well, get on it and pick one up so you can never get lost again!  Eat your hearts out iPhone lovers as Garmin has shown you no love.
