16 05 2008

Adobe Releases Flash Player 10 betaAdobe (ADBE) has unveiled their latest reincarnation of their ever popular plug-in Flash 10.  In a “surprising move” they did not take the Apple route and call it Flash X.  Adobe is touting its new 3-D animated effects and custom filters and effects using Adobe Pixel Bender in the current beta.  With Microsoft Silverlight, and Sun’s JavaFX, Adobe has got their work cut out for them to maintain their 98% market penetration.  The plug-in will be available for all Windows flavors, Mac OS X, and Linux (whoohoo!).  In an effort to bolster their newest app Adobe AIR, all features of the final release of Flash 10 will be built into AIR.  So, what the hek are you waiting for, grab your copy of the beta now and earn bragging rights to be the coolest geek on the block.
